Youth Ministry

St. Mark Catholic Youth Ministry seeks to generously support and form a generation of disciples who are anchored in the sacraments, pursuing an ever deeper relationship with God, and continually sharing the love of Christ through their witness and outreach. In short, the mission of St. Mark Youth Ministry is to build community, form disciples, and equip saints. Our intention is to create a community of young people who know that they are loved and that they belong, to form disciples who are prepared to share that love with others, and to equip saints who are anchoring themselves in a relationship with God nourished through prayer and the sacraments. Through prayer, community, formation, and service, our goal is to help these young people develop into faithful and strong Catholic men and women.

Middle School Youth Group (6th-8th) - INSPIRE

Middle School students are invited to come to Family Faith Formation with their families two Sundays a month. Click HERE for more information about Family Faith Formation for families with Kindergarteners through 8th graders. Middle School students are also invited to join us for Middle School Youth Group two Wednesdays per month. Middle Schoolers come together to INSPIRE and be inspired to grow in their relationship with God through authentic relationships with their peers and adult mentors.

High School (9th-12th) – EMPOWER

We use the teachings of the Catholic Church to help high school teens discover how faith transforms their lives. We strive to provide solid, Catholic content to form our high school students, and use relational ministry to accompany our teens in an authentic way. We EMPOWER our teens to be an example of Christ’s love to all.

Sacramental Preparation (6th-12th)

Preparing for and receiving the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) is a step in the process of a life-long Catholic journey. For middle and high school students who have not yet received all of the Sacraments of Initiation, there is a process in place to help them complete these sacraments. Step one of the process is to be participating in the Family Faith Formation and/or Youth Ministry Program (see above). Once they are participating in the Parish Family Faith Formation or Youth Ministry, they are eligible to be part of the Sacramental Preparation process. Each sacrament has its own schedule of sessions in addition to the regular Youth Group. These schedules are available on request. Ultimately, as the Sacraments of Initiation are the gateway into full participation in the Church, our goal of sacramental prep is to enfold our teens into the Church community and open their hearts to the gifts and graces they will receive in the sacraments. Registration forms will be made available to anyone enrolled in the Youth Ministry or Family Faith Formation Program who still needs to complete their Sacraments of Initiation. If you have a teen who needs the Sacrament of Baptism, or was baptized as a Christian into a different church, please contact Elisabeth in the Youth Office for more information.
